Target Group

The project targets marginalized and vulnerable groups in Chhayanath Rara (Mugu) and Kamalbazar (Achham), including women (especially single women), Dalits, youths, PwDs, senior citizens, poorest households, smallholder farmers, blacksmiths, and disaster-affected families. It will directly benefit 1,750 households and indirectly reach 4,350 households.

Objectives

To promote gender-friendly, socially inclusive economic growth and build resilient communities by empowering marginalized and vulnerable groups (MVGs) in Chhayanath Rara Municipality (Mugu) and Kamalbazar Municipality (Achham) through market-led livelihoods, improved local governance, and social justice.

Major Achivements

  • Successful Completion of Co-Design Workshop
    ASTHA Nepal, in close collaboration with USAID, S.W. Nepal Pvt. Ltd., and local stakeholders, successfully conducted a comprehensive co-design workshop. The event meaningfully engaged representatives from local governments, community members, and partner organizations, fostering shared understanding and joint commitment towards locally led development goals in the project areas.
  • Identification of Community Needs and Opportunities
    Through inclusive and participatory community consultations, the project effectively identified key issues, challenges, and opportunities faced by marginalized and vulnerable groups. These insights ensured that the project design remains responsive to the real needs and priorities of the target communities.
  • Joint Project Design with USAID Team
    A collaborative and iterative design process was conducted in partnership with the USAID team. This approach allowed for the integration of local knowledge, stakeholder feedback, and technical expertise, resulting in a contextually relevant and community-driven project framework.
  • Recruitment of Key Personnel and Office Set-Up
    ASTHA Nepal has successfully recruited qualified personnel for key project positions and established fully functional offices in the project districts. This foundational step ensures effective coordination, timely implementation, and smooth operational management of project activities on the ground.
