Project Overview:
The project focused on improving the livelihoods and health of rural households by promoting affordable and efficient biomass energy technologies. It supported the installation of improved cookstoves, capacity building of local stove masters, and community-level behaviour change activities. The intervention significantly reduced indoor air pollution, firewood consumption, and improved energy access in Surkhet district.

Major Achievements:

Installed 3,359 improved cookstoves across 35 VDCs of Surkhet district.

Trained 22 local stove masters (12 male and 10 female) on ICS technologies.

Conducted VDC and cluster-level behaviour change workshops and action committee meetings.

Supported declaration of Indoor Air Pollution (IAP)-free VDCs, improving household health conditions.
