The PASP project reduced extreme poverty in Sindhuli by strengthening community institutions, building livelihoods, and delivering local infrastructure for vulnerable groups.

Project Overview

The Poverty Reduction Support Project (PASP) was a long-term initiative dedicated to reducing extreme poverty in targeted communities. By focusing on the most vulnerable groups, the project empowered local communities through institutional development, capacity building, and the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities, leading to improved socio-economic conditions.

Project Location

The project was implemented in the Sindhuli District, specifically in the following areas:

  • Hariharpurgadi Gaupalika: Wards 6, 7, and 8.

  • Ghanglekh Gaupalika: Wards 1, 2, and 3.

Major Achievements

The project achieved significant impact through community mobilization and infrastructure development, culminating in:

  • Conducted 16 local-level interactions to foster planning and address community issues.

  • Established and strengthened 102 fully functional Community Organizations (COs), with a focus on inclusion for Janjati (indigenous), Dalit, and women members.

  • Executed 6 capacity development programs for CO members and project staff.

  • Enabled 3,060 community members to initiate and engage in various income-generating activities.

  • Successfully constructed 10 community infrastructure projects, improving access to basic services.
