The project promotes access to justice in Achham by strengthening community-based legal aid and supporting marginalized groups through legal awareness, assistance, and local justice mechanisms.

Project Overview:

This project aims to promote legal empowerment by expanding access to justice and strengthening community-based legal aid services. It supports marginalized and vulnerable populations to understand their rights, seek timely legal assistance, and navigate formal justice systems. Through awareness, legal support, and institutional collaboration, the project fosters accountability, transparency, and responsive justice mechanisms at the local level.

Target Group:

The project targets marginalized and vulnerable individuals, including women, children, persons with disabilities, disadvantaged communities, and those with limited access to legal services, to ensure equitable access to justice and legal protection.

Major Achievements:

  • Established defender booths in three palikas of Achham.
  • Supported for operation of a hotline service at municipalities for legal assistance.
  • Provided direct legal support to 240 individuals.

Implementing Area:

The project is implemented in selected municipalities and rural municipalities of Achham District, focusing on communities with limited access to justice and legal services.
