The REDP project expanded renewable energy access in Manang through improved cookstoves, solar systems, water mills, and micro-hydro, improving livelihoods and sustainability.

Project Overview:
The Renewable Energy Development Program (REDP) supported rural communities in adopting renewable energy technologies to improve livelihoods, health, and environmental sustainability. The project promoted clean and affordable energy solutions across Manang district.

Implemented Area:
Manang District

Major Achievements:

  • Installed 300 Improved Cook Stoves (ICS), 200 Solar Home Systems (SHS), 34 Improved Water Mills (IWM), and 2 Micro-Hydro Projects (MHPs)

  • Enhanced community capacity on Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs)

  • Increased awareness on clean energy use and climate change mitigation
