The project improved livelihoods and energy access by expanding electrification, solar and micro-hydro systems, and promoting productive energy and clean cooking solutions.

Project Overveiw 

To improve the living standard of people, increase employment of women and men as well as productivity, reduce dependency on traditional energy and attain sustainable developme.

Major Achievements

Community Electrification

  • Connected 12,008 households to power (1,194 kW).

  • Advanced 71 Micro-Hydro Projects (MHPs) through studies, approvals, and implementation.

  • Fully approved 20 MHPs (793.5 kW).

Solar Energy

  • Completed 9 Solar Water Pumps (RSDWPs); 19 were finally approved.

  • Collected demand for 20 institutional solar projects in schools.

Productive Energy Unit (PEU)

  • Formed 35 Local Economic Committees and 24 Income-Generating Activity (IGA) groups.

  • Trained 146 MSMEs and 727 IGA members.

Biomass & Climate

  • Installed 12,464 Improved Cookstoves (ICS).

  • Monitored 61 MHPs and tagged 600 Improved Water Mills (IWMs).

Implemented Area: 10 District of Karnali province
