The RTSP project expanded renewable energy access in Karnali Province through solar water systems, biogas, iron cookstoves, and micro-hydro electrification, improving energy and water services for communities.
Project Overveiw
The Regional Technical Services Provider (RTSP) project, supported by the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (Government of Nepal), was implemented across 10 districts of Karnali Province from January 2018 to June 2019 with a total budget of NPR 35,55,038.43. The project aimed to promote renewable energy solutions and improve access to safe water through solar-powered drinking water systems, grassfire energy, biogas, iron cookstoves, and micro-hydro electrification. During the implementation period, ASTHA Nepal successfully managed solar lifting drinking water projects, facilitated the installation of biogas and iron cookstoves, supported micro-hydro electrification for communities, and strengthened community-level management of renewable energy resources.
Major Achievements:
Implemented solar-powered drinking water projects.
Promoted grassfire energy, biogas, and iron cookstove installations.
Supported micro-hydro electrification for communities.
Managed renewable energy resources at community level.
