Project Overview
The Vulnerable Community Development Plans (VCDPs) and Gender Action Plans (GAPs) project aimed to increase income levels of vulnerable communities through life-skills training and gender-based action planning. Supported by SNRTP/Nepal Government, the project focused on social and behavior change communication (SBCC) and livelihood skill development. The project was implemented from January 1, 2019 to October 31, 2019 with a total cost of NPR 19,127,284, promoting self-employment and economic empowerment, particularly among women and girls
Major Achievements

1,642 individuals trained in various income-generating trades, including beekeeping, off-season vegetable farming, driving, sewing and cutting, candle making, Dhaka weaving, boutique and beauty parlor services, snack and papad making, bamboo furniture making, and goat keeping

Provided seed money support to establish small businesses

Contributed to increased household income and sustainable livelihoods

Promoted self-employment opportunities at the community level

Ensured strong women and girls’ participation, with 65% female participation across all trainings

Implementing Area
The project was implemented in the following districts:
Tanahu, Syangja, Kaski, Parbat, Gulmi, Palpa, Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Salyan, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, and Kanchanpur.
